We’re at the point in the offseason where Vegas is coming out with over/under bets for each program and after looking around at multiple sites, including FanSided’s own partner WynnBet, the average is around 9.5 wins for Oregon football in 2021.

Now that sports betting is becoming legal across the country, fans everywhere who believe in their team can hammer down on the “over” and in the Ducks’ case, that may be a good decision.

Oregon is coming off its second straight Pac-12 title, but the Ducks did finish just 4-3 in the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season. They struggled near the end of the season, losing to Oregon State and Cal to close the regular season before winning the Pac-12 title game against USC and dropping the Fiesta Bowl to Iowa State 34-17.

The Ducks are likely to be a top-10 team ahead of the 2021 season, however, with one of the most talented rosters in school history returning.

So if the over/under is set at 9.5, what would be the smart bet?

*Note: This is merely a betting suggestion.

Smartest over/under bets for Oregon football in 2021

Some sites will have Oregon at nine wins, some will have 9.5, and there will probably be others with 10.

Obviously, the safest bet would likely be in the 8.5 wins as I could already pencil in 7-8 wins on the schedule right now without thinking twice about it. An over at 9.5 wins might be risky, but Oregon is talented enough to not only win 10 games but make the College Football Playoff. I put enough stock into the 2021 Ducks to say that I would probably smash the over on 10 wins — if the Pac-12 title game was included.

Over 9.5 regular-season wins is a decent bet, but 8.5 is safest.

Still, 2021 should be a national title or bust season for the Ducks who, if they have the right quarterback, should push for 10-11 wins easily in the regular season.
