I could choose between a handful of Oregon receivers here, but I went with the seasoned veteran who is a preseason All-Pac-12 receiver.

Johnny Johnson III is back for a fifth year after putting up solid numbers in a COVID-19-shortened 2020 season. He finished the year with 19 catches for 267 yards and two touchdowns but those stats still don’t compare to his breakout season in 2019. In fact, he had 57 receptions for 836 yards and seven touchdowns.

Throughout his career, he’s been pretty consistent in terms of yards per catch, averaging 14.2 as a freshman, 12.6 as a sophomore, 14.7 as a junior, and then 14.1 in 2020. I think he’ll have his best year yet in 2021 and that means breaking 60 receptions and approaching the 1,000-yard mark. If he breaks 1,000 yards, I think he’s a first-team All-Pac-12 selection.

Devon Williams, Jaylon Redd, Troy Franklin, Mycah Pittman, Dont’e Thornton, Kris Hutson, Josh Delgado, and Isaah Crocker could steal some targets from him, but Johnson III should be the go-to guy if he stays healthy which hasn’t been a problem throughout his career.
