Yet another recruiting win came in for Dan Lanning and the Ducks when Xavier Lherisse, a four-star safety in the class of 2026, committed to Oregon over some of the most historic Blue Blood programs in the nation.
Lherisse, who is the No. 27 safety in the nation and the No. 48 athlete out of the state of Florida, held offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish but chose Oregon over any other program.
"Once a duck always a duck," Lherisse said when he shared his commitment to the Oregon football program.

The safety prospect still has official visits scheduled with other programs, as well as the Ducks, over the summer. Lherisse is set to visit the Auburn Tigers on May 30, Oregon on June 6, Notre Dame on June 12, and the Florida State Seminoles on June 22.
Lherisse has spoken very highly of Lanning and his staff, "The coaches at Oregon really care about me and have made me a priority from the beginning."
In the most recent recruiting class rankings from On3, Oregon landed at the No. 4 position in the nation with the Ducks' 19 blue-chip commitments for their class of 2025 group. For the class of 2026, Lherisse joined the No. 1 recruiting class in the country when he committed to the Ducks.
Lherisse is a four-sport athlete for his high school in Melbourne, FL, also excelling in basketball, baseball, and track.
Oregon has been a major topic of conversation as the biggest prospects from the class of 2026 announce their commitments – especially when it comes to the No. 1 quarterback in the class, five-star QB Jared Curtis.
