On Thursday, five-star offensive tackle prospect Immanuel Iheanacho announced that he had cut down his 30-plus Division I offers to just 11 final schools. On the final list were none other than the Oregon Ducks. Just a few hours later, it was announced that Iheanacho would visit Dan Lanning and the Ducks soon.

Alongside Oregon in the final 11 are a few other powerhouse programs like the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, and Penn State Nittany Lions. Iheanacho also included the LSU Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies, Auburn Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, Florida Gators, and Miami Hurricanes in the list – as well as his home-star team, the Maryland Terrapins.

Dan Lanning is making a big impact on 5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho

Earlier in the week, Iheanacho had shared that the Ducks were a frontrunner in his recruiting process, due in large part to Lanning and his staff. Iheanacho is regarded as the No. 2 offensive tackle and the No. 5 overall athlete in the class of 2026, according to On3.

“Leader is still Oregon," Iheanacho said. "Oregon, Georgia and Penn State. Those are my leaders.”

Iheanacho shared with On3 that he is open to visiting more programs over the next year, especially teams where he can truly learn how the players feel and fit within the program.

At 6-foot-6.5 and 345 pounds, the 17-year-old athlete is massive and already has the build of a collegiate-level offensive lineman, if not the build of an NFL athlete.

Hudson Standish, a recruiting analyst for 247Sports, shared that Iheanacho has a "better-than-expected lower body explosiveness at his size" and "presents an incredibly difficult problem for opposing front seven defenders to solve thanks to his massive reach and top-tier power in the hands."

Iheanacho has nearly a year to reach the final decision when it comes to which program will be the name across his chest during his collegiate career. However, with the Ducks already emerging as frontrunners, Oregon fans can start getting excited about the future.
