The day finally came for five-star quarterback Jared Curtis to make his collegiate decision. The No. 1 quarterback and the No. 1 athlete out of the state of Tennessee in the class of 2026 was between none other than the Oregon Ducks and the Georgia Bulldogs.
With Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and his protégé, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning, fighting for Curtis' commitment, the decision was certain to rock the college football world.
At 2:30 p.m. PT on Monday, May 5, Curtis made that announcement by releasing a video, after announcing he had made one for both programs just a few weeks earlier.
Just like that... The Ducks were heartbroken because Curtis had chosen the Bulldogs over them, making Oregon miss out on yet another big-time prospect.

Which quarterbacks have committed to Oregon?
- Dante Moore - Red-shirt sophomore - UCLA
- Luke Moga - Red-shirt freshman - high school
- Brock Thomas - Red-shirt freshman - high school
- Akili Smith Jr. - Freshman - high school
The Ducks are sitting pretty in the quarterback room. However, a commitment from the No. 1 QB prospect in the class of 2026 certainly wouldn't have hurt Oregon's cause.
With veteran quarterbacks Dante Moore and Luke Moga leading the charge, younger quarterbacks Brock Thomas and Akili Smith Jr. will have more time to understand the tempo of college football.
Unfortunately, Lanning and the Ducks already lost one top quarterback this year when former Oregon signee Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele decommitted and took his talents south to play for the California Golden Bears.
