Something is going slightly awry in Eugene as the Oregon Ducks and head coach Dan Lanning struggle to bring in recruits and keep prospects committed to the program.
Now, one of the biggest prospects in the class of 2026 has reached his decision day, and the recruiting woes that the Ducks are going through could very possibly affect his decision.
Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis has narrowed his field to just two programs: the Oregon Ducks and the Georgia Bulldogs. However, as the moment of his decision rapidly approaches, could the allure of Oregon lose its shine as other blue-chip prospects take their talent elsewhere?
Curtis, a Tennessee native, is currently crystal-balled to commit to the Bulldogs. However, On3 still gives the Ducks a 35.7 percent chance of landing the quarterback, who is the No. 6 overall athlete in the class as well as the No. 1 player out of the state.

Which players have avoided the Ducks this spring?
Four-star receiver recruit Kayden Dixon-Wyatt announced his commitment on Sunday, May 4, choosing the Ducks' newest rival, the Ohio State Buckeyes, over Oregon.
Additionally, a few players have hit the transfer portal, committing to former Pac-12 rivals instead of sticking with the Ducks.
- Luke Dunne, punter - Washington
- Rodrick Pleasant, cornerback - UCLA
- My'Keil Gardner, defensive line - Arizona State
- Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, quarterback - California
- Jaxson Jones, linebacker - Utah
This isn't the time to hit the panic button. Oregon still has the No. 4 transfer portal class this spring, with 11 players committing to Oregon, including six four-star transfer prospects and five three-star prospects.
Currently, Curtis is scheduled to announce his decision between the Ducks and the Dawgs at 2:30 p.m. PT.
