5 winners and 3 losers from Oregon's blowout win over Portland State

Portland State may have been more upset than Oregon that the Ducks lost last weekend, as it meant that Dan Lanning's team was going to punish them for simply showing up. The Ducks did just that, as the starters found themselves watching the game from the bench by the start of the second half. With Big Ten play on the horizon, it was the perfect time for Dan Lanning to get his starters some rest before the stretch run.

This game allowed Oregon to get plenty of younger pieces involved in the game, and the results were incredibly promising, along with the stellar showings from the starters.

Jordon Davison - Running Back

The first two games from Jordon Davison were quiet, but he showed up quickly, making an impact in the 1st quarter. Davison quickly racked up 13 carries for 81 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the rushing attack had a much easier time opening holes in this game. Getting to watch the second half on the sidelines will only lead to a fresher Davison next week when Big Ten play begins.

Kendre Harrison - Tight End

Jamari Johnson missed this game with an injury, allowing the younger tight ends to show their potential. 5-star freshman Kendre Harrison was among the best performers for the Ducks, catching 4 passes for 53 yards and a touchdown. Harrison did exit the game early with an injury which is a concern, but the elite talent level is clearly there.

Messiah Hampton - Wide Receiver

Jeremiah McClellan warmed up for the Ducks but showed up on the sideline in a boot and on crutches. Messiah Hampton started to show that he's capable of making an impact as a true freshman last week, and he seized the opportunity on Friday Night. Hampton caught 3 passes for 30 yards and a score while working with Dante Moore, and he may be cementing himself as WR4 in this offense. A holding call wiped a second touchdown off the board for Hampton with Raiola before he got it back, as he's clearly capable of contributing in a big way.

Dylan Raiola - Quarterback

Given that Dylan Raiola was coming off an injury, and that Brock Thomas has experience in the offense, there were some questions about who was going to back up Dante Moore. Raiola was the first quarterback off the bench, and when he left the game 11-11 for 124 yards and 3 touchdowns, it ended all debate.

Nasir Wyatt - Edge Rusher

Nasir Wyatt didn't record a sack in this game, but when you watch him play, it's always clear that he's a rare talent off the edge. While still playing with a club on his right hand, Wyatt continues to rack up pressures and even used his good hand to bat down a pass. When the club finally comes off, the staff can trust Wyatt more on early downs, which will help keep Teitum Tuioti and Matayo Uiagalelei fresh.

Simeon Price - Running Back

Oregon looked to continue stacking depth in the running back room by adding Colorado transfer Simeon Price. Thus far, Price has yet to dress for Oregon, even on a night when Dan Lanning knew the backups would get plenty of playing time. When injury reports are released next week, we may find out that Price is battling an injury, but he's looking like an early miss for the Ducks in the portal.

Carl Williams IV - STAR

It may be unfair to say that Carl Williams IV may have lost his starting job while dealing with an injury, but the Ducks' defense may have found the answer to some of the questions in the secondary. Friday night saw Oregon deploy Brandon Finney Jr. in the nickel/STAR role. Na'eem Offord and Ify Obidegwu have each played well on the outside, and if Finney can kick inside, this secondary gets a lot stronger.

Iverson Hooks - Wide Receiver

It took until the 3rd quarter of the game for Oregon fans to finally get a look at UAB transfer Iverson Hooks. While Hooks was dealing with an injury, he was healthy enough to play on Friday Night where Messiah Hampton and Gatlin Bair both played before him. Hooks has a chance to continue working his way up the depth chart, but early on he's been an underwhelming addition.
