Oregon's powerful tight end Terrance Ferguson is back in action as the No. 1 Ducks prepare to take on the Nation Championship-defending Michigan Wolverines. After missing game time due to an appendectomy, Ferguson's return was a huge win for the Ducks before the game even began.
Due to the surgical procedure, Ferguson missed Oregon's dominant performances against Purdue and then-No. 20 Illinois.
Ahead of the game, reporter James Crepea shared that Ferguson was going through pregame without any limitations. The tight end was also off of the availability report, alongside edge rusher Jordan Burch.
So far this season, Ferguson already amassed 321 receiving yards on 20 catches. On the other side of the ball, Burch has racked up 19 total tackles, 5 sacks, and 3 pass deflections.
The return of both Ferguson and Burch is huge for Oregon as the team gets ready for one of its biggest tests so far this season. Even though Michigan is far from the team it was last year, playing against the Wolverines in the Big House is always a challenge for the visting team.
The last time Oregon and Michigan shared a field was in 2007, also in Ann Arbor, and the Ducks walked away with a resounding 39-7 victory over the Wolverines. However, over the five previous matchups between the two programs, Michigan has earned 3 wins and Oregon has only seen 2.
The No. 1 Ducks and the unranked Wolverines are scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET / 12:30 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+.
