Former Oregon quarterback Bo Nix had an incredible rookie season for the Denver Broncos as he led his new team to their first NFL Playoff appearance since 2015. However, when Nix was invited to partake in Pro Bowl activities, the former Duck graciously declined.

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, it was reported that Nix had declined the invitation due to a "previously scheduled, routine, and minor procedure."

Instead of taking advantage of the incredible personal opportunity, Nix is once again choosing to take care of his future for the betterment of his team. Earlier this offseason, the same Broncos beat reporter shared that Nix had played through a minor back fracture during his rookie season so that his team never lost their starting quarterback.

Nix has always been a team-first type of player. From trying to play on a weak ankle for the Auburn Tigers to staying with the Ducks for their bowl game his senior year despite declaring for the NFL Draft, the quarterback always wants what is best for his team and his teammates.

Now, with the upcoming procedure, Nix wants to focus on being as healthy as possible as he and the Broncos look to their upcoming season which will hopefully include yet another Playoff berth for the former Oregon QB.

During the regular season, Nix completed a resounding 376 pass attempts (66.3 percent) for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns through the air. He also ran for an impressive 430 yards and 4 more touchdowns throughout the year.

In Denver's singular postseason game, which they played against the Buffalo Bills, Nix connected with former Oregon wide receiver Troy Franklin for a beautiful 43-yard touchdown pass in the Broncos' opening possession.
