Bo Nix has been named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month
The month of October is wraps in for all but two NFL teams who will play on Thursday night, but the league has already chosen its rookies and players of the month. And Bo Nix won one of those prestigious awards.
The Duck rookie had a pretty tough month of September, passing for 660 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions. He looked like he was in slightly over his head, but he did run the ball effectively for 110 yards and two touchdowns. But running can only get a quarterback so far in this league.
Nix took it upon himself to bounce back in October -- and bounce back he did.
Besides rushing for 149 yards and two more touchdowns, he passed for 870 yards and seven touchdowns to just one interception. And his completion rate was a solid 67 percent which means that he wasn't just eliminating mistakes, but he was on target for the entire month.
Bo's big four-game stretch led to him being named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month.
While he still has plenty of work to do, he's led the Broncos to a 5-3 record and they were 3-1 in the month of October while he remained hot with a lone loss coming at the hands of the Chargers. Nix led Denver into New Orleans for a huge 23-point win and handled the Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders by two scores each.
If the former Oregon star can stay hot in the month of November, he could be on track to win the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year award but he might have to contend with Bucky Irving.
You love to see it.
