Former Oregon quarterback Bo Nix had an incredible rookie season in the NFL after being doubted by almost everyone in the nation. In fact, he played so well during his first year in the league that the former Duck was a finalist for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
However, former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, who played his rookie season for the Washington Commanders, walked away from the NFL Honors with the OROY trophy in his possession.
Afterward, Nix was trending on social media because many believed that his first year for the Denver Broncos was deserving of the award, despite the fact that Daniels led the Commanders further through the NFL Playoffs than Nix did with the Broncos.
The biggest problem that people found with the results for Offensive Rookie of the Year was the fact that Nix didn't receive a single vote. Yes, you read that correctly, despite his incredible rookie season, Nix received zero (0) votes on the final ballot.

Yes, Daniels had an incredible year for Washington as he led the Commanders to the NFC Championship game. However, Nix led all rookie quarterbacks in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and total touchdowns.
Bo Nix rookie season stats
- 3,775 passing yards (1st among rookies)
- 29 passing touchdowns (1st)
- 66.3 completion percentage (3rd)
- 430 rushing yards
- 4 rush touchdowns
- 1 receiving touchdown
- 34 total touchdowns (1st)
There is a clear and obvious argument that Daniels deserved to win the Rookie of the Year award. However, the former Oregon quarterback deserved at least one vote on the final ballot for the incredible season that he had.
