Few could've asked for a better Summer for the Oregon Ducks on the recruiting trail, as the coaching staff did an outstanding job building out this recruiting class. Dan Lanning and company took the Ducks from just inside the top 10 of the class rankings to 4th in the country, reeling in some of the biggest targets on the Ducks' board.

Official Visit season sent the Oregon Ducks on an incredible run of commitments, starting with elite linebacker Toa Satele through recent commitments from Hayden Stepp, Tae Walden Jr, and Xavier Sabb. What most Oregon fans likely didn't realize in the moment was that the commitment that sparked the Summer run could start a run in the 2028 recruiting cycle.

Oregon lands prediction for Toa Satele's younger brother

When Oregon landed elite linebacker recruit Toa Satele, it was a massive win for the Ducks as they picked up a top 80 player in the country, the 6th ranked linebacker in the class, and the top player out of Hawaii. Toa Satele on his own is a massive win, with his potential to be a standout in the middle of the Ducks' defense, if not rushing off the edge with Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tuioti heading off to the NFL after this season.

The small added benefit of landing Toa Satele was the potential to gain an edge in the recruitment of his younger brother in the 2028 recruiting cycle. Trison Satele ranks as the 171st ranked player in the Country, the 16th ranked defensive lineman in the class, and the top player out of Hawaii, making him a 4-star recruit.

On Thursday Night, the Ducks received perfect news in the early phases of their push to bring both Satele brothers to Eugene as Rivals' Greg Biggins and Brandon Huffman logged predictions for the Ducks to land Trison Satele.

While Oregon holds an early lead for Trison Satele, this recruitment won't be handed to the Ducks, as the staff will need to make just as big of a push for the younger brother. Satele has picked up nearly 20 offers, and programs won't go away without a fight, as he's an elite defensive line prospect.

The major push to start building the 2028 recruiting class is underway for the Oregon Ducks, and the early results are promising for the coaching staff. Between predictions for elite QB Josiah Boyd and DL Trison Satele, it looks like the program could get off to a fast start on the recruiting trail.
