The Oregon Ducks left Los Angeles on Saturday Night with a thrilling 41-27 victory in a massive Top 25 clash that both teams needed for their resumes. While the win comes with a ton of excitement, it almost takes a back seat to the concern everyone has. This wasn't the typical win for Oregon as Dante Moore was knocked out of the game in the second quarter on a disgusting hit from a USC defender that led to a targeting ejection.
Seeing Dante Moore on the ground for several minutes before he was carted to an ambulance on a stretcher was jarring, and it instantly became the only thing most fans could think about. Dan Lanning and the team were able to come together and win the game for their quarterback, but the concerns for Moore never left anyone's mind.
Dan Lanning shares promising Dante Moore update
After the game, the biggest thing anyone wanted to learn from Dan Lanning's press conference was the status of Dante Moore. During the broadcast, a few promising updates were shared, but Lanning gave more insight into what the Ducks know at this moment.
"He's moving, he has the ability to move, so we'll continue to assess him, but I don't want to make any speculation on further thoughts on that until we have more information with him."Dan Lanning
When Moore wasn't able to walk off the field, the instant concern everyone has is more about his long-term health, than if and when he'll be able to play. Hearing that Dante Moore has the ability to move is great news and provides a ton of optimism for his recovery.
At this point, Dante Moore's playing career takes a backseat, and all you can focus on is making sure he can live a normal life moving forward. When the staff and Moore feel comfortable sharing additional updates, then maybe football can become a topic, but for now it's great to hear that Moore can at least move.
