Heading into the 2026 college football season, few players are garnering as much hype as Oregon quarterback Dante Moore. The 2025 season ended up being a breakout year for Moore after a season on the sidelines, as he threw for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns with 10 interceptions, leading the Ducks to the College Football Playoff. After the season, Dante Moore had a massive decision to make, opting to return to college football rather than potentially being the 2nd Overall Pick.

The decision to return to Oregon will allow the Ducks to compete for the National Championship while allowing Moore to continue his development. While Dante Moore focuses on improving his game, the expectations for him this season will be sky-high as a Heisman front runner with the pressure of trying to build his NFL Draft stock.

Preseason NFL Mock Draft sends Dante Moore to the Browns' QB graveyard

On Monday, Bleacher Report released its way too early 2027 NFL mock draft with Dante Moore coming off the board 4th overall to the Cleveland Browns. Moore follows fellow quarterbacks Darian Mensah (1st Overall) and Arch Manning (3rd Overall) as the 3rd quarterback drafted in the mock draft.

Dante Moore landing in Cleveland is a move that every Oregon fan will be rooting against as it would likely mark the end of Dillon Gabriel's time with the Browns. Gabriel could still stick around as a backup if the Browns took a quarterback, but the hope is that he can win out the offseason's quarterback battle and hang onto the job.

Being picked as the quarterback of the Browns is seemingly a death blow for any quarterback, which would raise major concerns if that's the destination for Moore. Regardless of who's been the head coach or the general manager, the quarterbacks have all seemed to flop, which would be concerning for Dante Moore's future.

On the other hand, things have started to look like they're on the rise in Cleveland outside of the quarterback position. Landing Spencer Fano, Quinshon Judkins, KC Concepcion, Harold Fannin, Denzel Boston, and Isaiah Bond over the last two years is a great young core to drop a quarterback into.

The quarterback who finally turns the Browns around will be beloved in Cleveland, and if Dante Moore's given that chance, he could become an icon. There's a ton of risk that would come with that move, but Dante Moore has shown that he's mature enough to handle any situation that's thrown at him.
