The final 16 are set for the College World Series as the Oregon Ducks were able to hold serve on a chaotic opening weekend to advance to Super Regionals. Over the next few days, the Ducks will get to prepare and recover before embarking on their next battle. The Super Regionals will send the Oregon Ducks down to Austin, Texas, to take on the Texas Longhorns.

While the first weekend took some of the best teams out of the field, Texas didn't fall victim to the upsets. The Longhorns are 43-13 on the season after going 19-10 in the SEC and sweeping their regional. Jim Schlossnagle has assembled a loaded roster, and this should be the best clash of the Super Regional round.

Early odds make Oregon underdog to the Longhorns

After Monday Night brought an end to the regional round, the oddsmakers went to work setting the lines for the Super Regional round. According to the lines set by FanDuel Sportsbook, the Texas Longhorns are -340 favorites to win the Super Regional, while the Oregon Ducks are +250 underdogs to advance.

The Longhorns advanced to Super Regionals by going 3-0 in the Austin Regional knocking off Holy Cross, Tarleton State, and UC Santa Barbara. The Texas offense has been elite, scoring 41 runs in their 3 regional games.

If Oregon is going to knock off Texas, Mark Wasikowski is going to need strong outings from his starting pitchers. The Ducks were outstanding on the mound during the Eugene Regional which allowed the team to get through without much of a challenge.

While the pitching will need to be solid, the Ducks' offense is going to need to return to the level we saw throughout the regular season. The offense has power up and down the lineup, and Oregon will need to match the power of Texas' pitching with some power at the plate.

Many are expecting this to be the most competitive regional matchup as both teams match up well against each other. Both games will be played in primetime on ESPN which says a ton about what the broadcasters think of the matchup that lies ahead.
