The NCAA Baseball Tournament field has been cut from 64 teams down to 16 as a dramatic weekend of Regionals sends the best teams off to Super Regionals. After such an action packed weekend, the field looks drastically different than most would've expected as upsets made the field weaker on paper while providing excitement. Among the Regional hosts to hold serve and defend their home field were the Oregon Ducks.
Mark Wasikowski's group went 3-0 in the Eugene Regional, earning the Ducks a place in the final 16 with a great chance to reach Omaha. Standing in the Ducks way of a trip to the College World Series are the Texas Longhorns who also won their own Regional in dominant fashion.
Oregon-Texas is the clear premier series in ESPN's schedule release
As the Super Regional field is set, fans and teams are starting to prepare for the weekend ahead as potential 3-game series' are in place. On Tuesday Morning, the game times and television networks were set for the Super Regional round.

The Oregon Ducks will face Texas at 8:00 PM ET or 5:00 PM PT on Saturday Night and at 9:00 PM ET or 6:00 PM PT on Sunday Night while Monday's potential rubber match won't have a time set yet. Both games the Ducks and Longhorns will face off in will be broadcast on ESPN.
If one thing is clear from the schedule reveal, it's that Oregon and Texas is expected to be a battle given the timeslot and network the games are on. The matchup will be in the primetime night slots both days including the fact Saturday's game will go up directly against the Stanley Cup Finals.
It'll be most interesting to see what timeslot the Ducks and Longhorns are given on Monday Night if game 3 is required as it'll be the same night as Knicks vs Spurs Game 3.
When you look at some of the other timeslots, it's clear that the expectation is that Alabama will crush St John's or that Georgia and Mississippi State will be a battle given they were also given two games on ESPN.
Oregon and Texas have been two of the Nation's best all season long, and the matchup will be 1 of the 2 series where top 16 national seeds face off along with Georgia and Mississippi State. Texas always draws a big crowd which plays into ESPN's decision, but the Ducks are just as big of a part of the equation.
The Ducks face a massive challenge to advance to Omaha with Texas, but ESPN's schedule should encourage Oregon fans as it's clear they're expecting a great series.
