The Miami Dolphins made a brilliant move in 2021 when they selected Jevon Holland 36th overall in the NFL Draft. The former Oregon safety has been a star for the Dolphins ever since and now, he's heading toward his first free agency since joining the league.

The Dolphins signed Holland to a four-year rookie contract on July 23, 2021, and his rookie season was one for the books. The former Duck has been one of the best safeties in the entire league since signing that contract, most notably intercepting the hail mary attempt by Jets' Tim Boyle and returning it 99 yards for a touchdown to end the first half against New York in 2023.

With his contract reaching its expiration, Holland has a lot of options ahead of him. While the Dolphins might just sign him to a new contract, Holland can talk to every team in the league before settling down somewhere new.

So far, 2024 has been his slowest season but the Dolphins are only six weeks into the year. Over his first three seasons in the NFL, Holland was a top-five safety every single year.

In fact, according to PFF's recent ranking of the top free agents at the end of this season, Holland claimed the No. 1 spot overall on the list.

"A second-round draft pick out of Oregon back in 2021, Holland ranked as one of the five highest-graded safeties in two of his first three seasons in the league. Having earned a 60.9 PFF grade through five weeks in 2024, he’s currently on track for a career-low in that category, but there’s a long way to go this season, and his body of work previously speaks for itself," PFF.com writes.

Over 51 games in the league, Holland has already recorded 265 total tackles, 4 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 5 interceptions, and 1 fumble recovery. Not to mention 23 pass deflections and his pick-six against the New York Jets.
