Chip Kelly is headed back to the NFL after one season as Ohio State's offensive coordinator. The former Oregon head coach originally left his job with the Ducks in 2012 for a job as the Philadelphia Eagles head coach, which lasted for just three years.
Now, Kelly will be the offensive coordinator of the Las Vegas Raiders. Kelly left the Eagles for a new job as the San Francisco 49ers' head coach where he stayed for just one season before becoming the UCLA Bruins head coach.

Kelly was with the Bruins until the 2024 season when he left UCLA for the gig with the Buckeyes. The former head coach of the Ducks gave the entire Oregon fanbase abandonment issues when he left the team in 2012, which weren't helped by the departures of Willie Taggart and Mario Cristobal.
Before becoming Oregon's head coach in 2009, Kelly was the Ducks' offensive coordinator for two seasons from 2007 until 2008.
While with the Ducks, Kelly was named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2010. He led Oregon to three Pac-12 titles (2009-11) but failed to ever defeat the Ducks while coaching at UCLA. In fact, Kelly lost his first matchup against Oregon as he and the Buckeyes failed to defeat the Ducks in their first matchup of the 2004 season.
However, Kelly and Ohio State got the last laugh when they beat Oregon in the Rose Bowl Game and eventually won the National Championship game at the end of the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoffs.
Now, Kelly is set to return to the NFL and is, once again, abandoning the team that led him to the most success he has ever seen.
