Chip Kelly is making his third career move in less than 15 years. After abandoning the Ducks in 2012 after just three years, he went to the NFL to coach the Eagles for three seasons and then the 49ers for one year.
His most recent digs have been in Pasadena with the UCLA Bruins. Joining the program in 2018, Kelly has spent just five seasons in California and is now heading to Ohio State.
Kelly was set to be a Big Ten head coach with the Bruins and will now be an offensive coordinator in the conference with the Buckeyes.
Duck fans, who have felt the burn that UCLA is now experiencing, have reacted to the coaching moves in absolute comedic fashion:
Chip doing that to still lose to Oregon 😂 https://t.co/00oVFzMU1L

How dare Chip Kelly bamboozle recruits leaving the day after signing day.

What a disgraceful thing to do to the *checks notes* 87th overall recruiting class! https://t.co/A9jnOLLrUQ

A sitting Big Ten head coach leaving to be a Big Ten coordinator would be the funniest possible thing https://t.co/pF02o7RfVh

Luckily, the Ducks are in a safe space as Dan Lanning has cemented his place in Eugene and won't be going anywhere, anytime soon.
