Former UW commit flips to the Oregon Ducks after big-time win over the Huskies
By Sam Fariss
The wins just keep coming for Dan Lanning and the No. 1 Oregon Ducks – both on and off the football field. Recently, Lanning gained another blue chip commitment from a former Washington commit, four-star offensive tackle Zac Stascausky.
The Oregon native from right up the road in Portland originally committed to the Washington Huskies but after the Ducks' dominant performance against their rivals, Stascausky flipped his decision to Oregon.
The four-star offensive tackle is currently ranked as the No. 19 OT in the nation and the No. 1 athlete out of the state of Oregon in the class of 2025, according to 247Sports. Overall, he is ranked as the No. 164 athlete in the country.
Beyond the Ducks and the Huskies, Stascausky had offers from elite programs such as Michigan and Georgia as well as the Oregon State Beavers.
At 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds, Stascausky is a commanding presence against defensive lines in high school. Despite his large frame, Stascausky is light on his feet and can carry his body down the field quickly. According to 247Sports' recruiting analyst Greg Biggins, there are even highlights of the offensive tackle taking down opponents 40 yards down the field.
Stascausky was in Eugene when the Ducks knocked down the Huskies and he was standing on his now-future sidelines right alongside the No. 1 Oregon squad. While winning isn't everything, seeing the team you are currently committed to get demolished by a team you have another offer from might convince just about anyone to flip their future.
