The Oregon women's basketball team improved to 6-3 in Big Ten play after a three-game winning streak over conference opponents; the Purdue Boilermakers, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Indiana Hoosiers. Now, the Ducks have to take on the dominant Michigan State Spartans.
Currently, the Spartans are the No. 16 team in the nation and have lost just two conference matchups (versus then-No. 8 Maryland and Nebraska). As Oregon heads to East Lansing, the Ducks have a tough matchup ahead of them.

Overall, the Ducks have gone 15-5 with Georgia Tech and South Dakota State handing them their only non-conference losses at the beginning of the season. Oregon's Big Ten losses came against then-No. 6 USC, Illinois, and then-No. 9 Ohio State.
On the other side of the court, Michigan State lost just one non-conference matchup before Big Ten play began when the Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Spartans by 15 points.
The Spartans stand at fourth in the Big Ten while the Ducks have surprised some people and are currently in fifth place in the conference standings, just one place behind the ranked Michigan State squad.
Currently, there are five Big Ten teams in the AP Top 25 Poll – the No. 1 UCLA Bruins, No. 4 USC Trojans, No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes, No. 14 Maryland Terrapins, and, of course, the No. 15 Michigan State Spartans.
If the (currently unranked) Oregon Ducks can pull off the upset over the Spartans, head coach Kelly Graves and his team would have an incredible argument to be in the Top 25.
