If Oregon could only land 1 player from loaded official visit weekend, it's a no-brainer

The Oregon Ducks are kicking off their second weekend of official visits on Friday, as some of the top prospects in the country are making their way to Eugene. Last weekend, the Ducks kicked off Official Visit season with a major commitment, landing elite linebacker recruit Toa Satele, bolstering this class which ranks 9th in the Country.

Heading into the second weekend of official visits, the hope is that Dan Lanning and the staff can continue the momentum as they push to keep the streak of signing top 5 recruiting classes alive. The Ducks will have several 4-star recruits on campus, and it could provide a great chance to further build up this class.

Dakota Guerrant returns to Oregon amid battle with Michigan

Last weekend, Toa Satele was arguably the top recruiting target on campus for the Ducks, along with some other highly ranked 4-star recruits. While Oregon landed one of its top targets last weekend, this weekend gives the staff a chance to land its true top target in wide receiver Dakota Guerrant.

Rivals' Steve Wiltfong has described the Michigan native as Oregon's top target regardless of position which is truly high praise. Getting Guerrant on campus for an official visit is yet another chance for the Ducks to continue pitching their top target.

If you were to ask the staff which recruit they hope to land a commitment from this weekend, the answer would easily be Dakota Guerrant. Between how much Oregon wants Guerrant, and the fact that some of the 5-star targets won't be on campus, it's clear that he's the top priority for the coaching staff this weekend.

Oregon QB commit Will Mencl has been making his pitch to Dakota Guerrant, and the staff getting him back to campus, where they'll get to spend a ton of time with him, should only strengthen the Ducks' position.

According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Dakota Guerrant is a 4-star recruit ranked as the 43rd ranked player in the country, the 8th ranked wide receiver in the class, and the top player out of the state of Michigan. If Guerrant were to commit to the Ducks, he'd become Oregon's highest ranked recruit, edging out Will Mencl, who ranks 48th in the country.

The Ducks have landed predictions to land Guerrant from Rivals insiders Steve Wiltfong, EJ Holland, Justin Hopkins, Max Torres, Sam Spigelman, and Greg Smith as it appears Oregon is the clear front runner.

Guerrant committing this weekend would be a major win for the staff as the Ducks are yet to land a wide receiver recruit. The hope will be to close out this recruitment and to get Guerrant to shut down his recruitment so the Ducks can pivot to adding additional weapons to this class.
