The Oregon Ducks keep taking hits as the first few days of 2025 unfold. Not only did the No. 1 Ducks lose to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl and not only did the No. 9 men's basketball team lose to No. 22 Illinois in Big Ten play, but now, a top QB signee is reportedly heading to the transfer portal.

Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele, who originally committed to the Cal Golden Bears but flipped his commitment to sign with Oregon, is now expected to enter the portal over the weekend – right before the transfer window closes for the Ducks.

The Hawai'i native even went as far to enroll at Oregon after signing with the Ducks but after the team's devastating loss in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals, the tide may be turning against head coach Dan Lanning and his staff.

Luckily for the Ducks, Keawe Sagapolutele, a four-star prospect in the class of 2025, isn't the only blue-chip quarterback that Oregon signed on National Signing Day. Fellow four-star QB prospect Akili Smith Jr., whose father was a legendary Oregon quarterback, also signed with the Ducks just a month ago.

Steve Wiltfong, the Vice President of On3 and a national recruiting expert, shared that he believes Keawe Sagapolutele is headed back to Cal or could look to the Georgia Bulldogs for his future.

What makes the news of Keawe Sagapolutele entering his name into the portal is his initial decommitment from the Golden Bears and the fact that he canceled a visit with the Bulldogs when he had decided on the Ducks for his future program.
