Jordan Burch has been a monster for the No. 1 Oregon Ducks while he has been able to stay on the field. However, for the second time this season, fears of Burch's health arose as the defensive tackle left the field during the Ducks' game against the Maryland Terrapins.
Throughout this season, Burch has been a menace for opponents' offenses to handle and throughout the first three quarters of the Oregon-Maryland game, Burch's presence was felt.
However, just a few minutes into the fourth quarter, Burch went down and was slow to exit the field. This immediately caused concern as Burch has already missed game time due to injury this season.
Immediately, athletic trainers rushed to Burch's side on the field and walked the DT to the sidelines. He was then escorted to the injury tent to be further evaluated.
Already in the game, Burch had shocked the country with a surprise play when he subbed in on offense and scored a touchdown for the Ducks on a 36-yard trick run route by the defensive tackle.
Burch's first absence was felt when he missed the Ducks' matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes. He had previously led the Oregon defensive front and was repeatedly mentioned by commentators as the Ducks dominated their opponents.
Against the UCLA Bruins, former Pac-12 opponent turned Big Ten rival, Burch recorded a stunning 2 tackles and 1 sack before subbing out when the Oregon lead was large enough. Despite missing multiple games this season, he already produced 22 tackles, 5 sacks, 3 pass deflections, and 1 fumble recovery for Oregon.
This article will be updated as news releases about Jordan Burch's availability/status.
