Kayvon Thibodeaux was an absolute monster for the Oregon Ducks. Now, he's an absolute monster for the New York Giants in the NFL.
Since entering the league in 2022, when the Giants drafted the former Duck fifth overall, Thibodeaux has already amassed 123 total tackles and a resounding 21 sacks. Not to mention his six forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one defensive touchdown.
Recently, Thibodeaux sat down with comedian and actor Kevin Hart to talk about his time in college and his professional career so far.
Kayvon Thibodeaux talks about former NY teammate Saquon Barkley
"Honestly, it didn’t phase me, but it was irritating. But knowing Saquan personally, that was amazing to see. It was a beautiful story," Thibodeaux said. "Well, they had a better-built team around him. Their O-Line was one of the best in the league… But just know it’s coming down. My question is the money laundering. How do they have enough money for all those players?”
Thibodeaux was joking, of course, about the money laundering that is. It has to sting seeing a guy you played with for two seasons move on to a rival team and end up winning the Super Bowl that same year.
A few moments later, Thibodeaux was talking about yet another heated rivalry, but one from college, when Hart asked him about why he chose to go to Oregon instead of staying home in California.
Kayvon Thibodeaux talks about picking the Oregon Ducks
"USC, Alabama, Florida St…" Thibodeaux said about who else was under consideration for his college program, and then he gave the perfect soundbite for why he didn't pick the USC Trojans. "I didn’t like the track record they had of getting guys that were really good and not succeed.”
For the record, in 2022, Thibodeaux was the only Oregon Duck selected during the NFL Draft. On the other hand, USC had three players taken that year. Since then, 24 former Ducks have been drafted and just 14 Trojans have heard their names called.
Hart and his production company, Hartbeat, release new episodes of Cold As Balls every Tuesday on the Laugh Out Loud YouTube channel. Barkley is going to be one of the next guests on the show.
