Kenyon Sadiq proves 1st-round hype was warranted with electric opening-drive TD

Sadiq had a quiet preseason with the Jets as he recovered from hernia surgery, but as soon as he stepped on the field for his first NFL game, he was ready to make an impact.

On Sunday Afternoon, the New York Jets faced off against their former head coach Robert Saleh and the Tennessee Titans. The Jets' first drive was filled with excitement, starting with a 30-yard catch by Indiana rookie Omar Cooper Jr. and ending with Kenyon Sadiq scoring a touchdown.

The reason you draft Kenyon Sadiq is that he can be far more than just a tight end in the right offense, and the Jets are already proving that they know how to unlock the best of his ability. Deploying Sadiq on a designed handoff where you can get his speed out in space, where smaller defensive backs have to try and bring him down, feels like a cheat code.

Along with the short rushing touchdown to open his career, Kenyon Sadiq was able to haul in a catch for 7 yards, building quick chemistry with veteran quarterback Geno Smith.

Kenyon Sadiq signed with Oregon as a 4-star recruit, ranked as the 119th ranked player in the country, the 7th ranked tight end in the class, and the top player out of the state of Idaho. Sadiq spent three seasons in Eugene, finishing his career with 80 catches for 892 yards and 11 touchdowns while rushing for 42 yards.
