Lee Corso and the Oregon Duck have a long-lasting and beloved relationship – an extra step above Corso's relationships with other mascots and their headgear.
However, as ESPN College GameDay returned to Eugene for Oregon's matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes, Corso couldn't make the trip and the Duck was heartbroken.
During the early-morning show, which kicked off at 6 a.m. in Eugene, The Duck held a sign up that said "Miss you buddy" in honor of Corso's absence. In response, Kirk Herbstreit shared Corso's pick for the game... and it was Ohio State.

Get back to us soon Lee
Fans had already noticed Corso's absence that morning but after the Duck pointed out that the beloved college football character wasn't at the desk, dozens of people poured out their love for Corso on social media.
I hope Lee Corso is doing okay wherever he is, it’s noticeable when he’s not there. He’s not just a presence, he’s the heartbeat. #WeLoveLee

While Corso won' be donning the headgear of Brutus Buckeye or The Duck, his pick was in, much to the dismay of Oregon fans in attendance. However, it was Herbstreit who received the boos as Duck fans verbally "shot the messenger."
The matchup between Oregon and Ohio State is one of the biggest games of the year, if not the biggest game of the season. The No. 2 Buckeyes are visiting the No. 3 Ducks and look to continue history by shutting out the home team in Autzen.
