Dan Lanning has done it once again. The Oregon head coach brought in one of the top transfer portal targets on Tuesday morning when former Florida State wide receiver Malik Benson committed to the Ducks.

Just a few days earlier, Benson shared his final three programs and included the Oregon Ducks alongside the Tennessee Volunteers and the Kansas State Wildcats, his home-state team.

Benson started his collegiate career with the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he saw very minimal playing time, and became a standout receiver for the Florida State Seminoles during the 2024 season despite their less-than-ideal campaign.

The wideout, who just finished his sophomore season, earned 311 receiving yards and 1 touchdown for the Seminoles on just 25 receptions. During his freshman season for the Crimson Tide, Benson had 11 receptions for 162 yards and 1 touchdown. Throughout his collegiate career, Benson also earned 2 rushing yards and 3 yards on punt returns.

After Benson's commitment to the Ducks, Lanning shared his usual message that follows a recruiting victory for him and his staff.

Throughout his time with the program, Lanning's tweet of the Duck emoji has signified commitments to the Oregon football program and has evolved into a sort of lighthouse during the storm for Oregon fans.

As a high school prospect, Benson was the No. 1 wide receiver and the No. 1 overall athlete in the 2023 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. Currently, 247Sports does not have a transfer rating for Benson.

One of the other major targets for Oregon from the 2024 winter transfer portal is former Tulane Green Wave running back Makhi Hughes, the No. 1 RB in the portal, who is set to Lanning and the Ducks this weekend.

Lanning's first-ever commit, running back Jordan James, declared for the NFL earlier in the week, forgoing his final year of eligibility at Oregon.
