Oregon and Wisconsin snubbed by College GameDay not visiting Camp Randall

Fans of the Oregon Ducks and the Wisconsin Badgers were fairly disappointed when College GameDay announced it would be in Athens instead of at Camp Randall.

The Oregon Ducks are the No. 1 team in the country and are 10-0 so far this season. Next week, the Ducks are flying to Madison to take on the Wisconsin Badgers at the historic Camp Randall Stadium.

Sadly, ESPN College GameDay won't be in attendance, much to the dismay of Duck and Badger fans alike. While Wisconsin isn't one of the top teams in the Big Ten, and a far cry from a Playoff contender, the history of the stadium alone elevates the notoriety of the game.

While Oregon will more likely than not (and hopefully) breeze past the home team, the game has a lot of meaning behind it and Camp Randall is not an easy place to visit.

The Badgers are 355-194-23 at home, a win rate of nearly 65 percent. While the Ducks already visited the Big House and easily defeated the Michigan Wolverines, Camp Randall poses an entirely different ball game.

Not to mention, the last time the two teams shared a field was in the 2020 Rose Bowl game when the No. 6 Ducks eked out a win over the No. 8 Badgers. Wisconsin is going to be out for revenge and defending its home turf, the Ducks should not take this game lightly –– their fans certainly aren't.

Many fans were upset that College GameDay so often frequents an SEC campus but seems to hesitate when it comes to leaving the southeast. Sure, that conference has Alabama and Georgia, and now Texas but the Bulldogs just got annihilated by the Ole Miss Rebels and Tennessee has already lost this season, so why go to the Vols-Dawgs matchup?

Meanwhile, the Ducks are undefeated and going to one of the most difficult venues to play in as the visiting team. To further add to the meaning behind the game, the Badgers and the Ducks have played six times in the past and have each won three times – so whoever wins in Week 12 will build a one-game lead in the all-time record.

Hopefully, ESPN doesn't forget the Big Ten exists as Oregon continues to roll and prepares to host its rival Washington Huskies at the end of the regular season.

Oregon and Wisconsin are scheduled to kick off from Camp Randall on Nov. 16, the time of the game has yet to be announced.
