The Oregon Ducks have wrapped up their second weekend of official visits on Sunday as Dan Lanning and the staff look to continue building out this class. The group on campus this weekend was unique as it wasn't filled with the major names the Ducks are after, but it also provides a ton of promise.

Coming out of the weekend, it appears that the Oregon coaching staff hit it out of the park with the visits this weekend. The Ducks are trending with several prospects, and it looks like a few recruits are instantly on commit watch. Among the many to follow for the Ducks moving forward is an in-state product that should excite many.

Oregon predicted to flip in-state WR away from Washington State

The Oregon Ducks just dealt Washington State a crushing blow on the diamond with a win over the Cougars in the Eugene Regional. The Ducks appear to be on the verge of terrorizing the Cougars again as Rivals' Steve Wiltfong predicts that in-state WR Malachi Garlington will flip from Washington State to Oregon.

At the start of June, Malachi Garlington went to camp for the Ducks, and impressed the staff to the point that he earned a scholarship offer. This weekend, Garlington returned to Eugene for his official visit after attending the Spring game, and now the Ducks look to be trending for the in-state prospect.

There's plenty to like with Malachi Garlington as a prospect starting with the fact that he has a 6-foot-3 frame. Garlington's film however shows a ton of things you don't often see from a bigger wide receiver as he makes big plays on screen passes and quick passes after the catch along with ability returning kicks.

According to the Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Garlington is a 3-star recruit as the 1,527th ranked player in the country, the 196th ranked player in the class, and the 5th ranked recruit out of Oregon. The Ducks' staff is often very reserved in offering and pursuing recruits in-state, and seeing the staff involved with Garlington proves they like him as a prospect.

The Ducks haven't landed a wide receiver commit to this point, but at some point Oregon will have to strike. While the fanbase loves the elite recruits like Xavier Sabb and Dakota Guerrant, the Ducks can't only count on the highly ranked recruits.

The next step now for the coaching staff is getting this recruitment across the finish line as Garlington would be a nice addition to the class. Adding more weapons to the class would be a great start, and having a commit in place while continuing to pursue the high profile wide receivers would ease some of the concerns if the Ducks don't land their top two.
