As Summer turns to Fall, aside from the actual games on the field, the attention is turning from the 2027 recruiting cycle to the players in the 2028 class. On Friday, Oregon likely made its final addition to the 2027 recruiting class with the addition of elite linebacker recruit Brayton Feister, bolstering the Ducks' 4th ranked class with its 25th commitment.
The 2028 recruiting cycle is off to a blazing start as some of the players have come off the board earlier than you traditionally see. Thus far, the Ducks haven't landed a commitment in the 2028 cycle, but the coaching staff will continue to develop relationships, especially once the games begin where the staff can host recruits in Eugene.
Oregon to host Washington's top ranked recruit
The start of the fall will be key for building recruiting momentum, as the Ducks will have a busy fall hosting players. Among the top players who will make their way to Eugene this fall is tight end recruit Tytan McNeal, who will be in the building on September 5th when the Ducks host Boise State in the season opener.

Tytan McNeil is a two-sport star who could get the same pitch Kendre Harrison was given last year as he'll have the chance to play both football and basketball. According to Rivals' Recruiting Rankings, McNeal is the 59th ranked player in the Country, the 2nd ranked tight end in the class, and the top player out of the state of Washington. On the hardwood, ESPN ranks McNeal as the 11th ranked power forward in the Country.
The Ducks' pitch to McNeal will be rather simple, as Dan Lanning and his staff's resume speaks for itself. Oregon has turned itself into one of the best programs at developing tight ends sending Terrance Ferguson into the NFL as a 2nd round pick in the 2025 draft, and Kenyon Sadiq just went in the 1st round to the Jets.
Getting McNeal on campus for a visit is a great step for Dan Lanning and the coaching staff as they could emerge as a top contender for the 4-star recruit. The 2028 cycle is quickly developing, and the hope for the Ducks will be to get elite pieces like McNeal committed to start laying the foundation for the cycle.
