Men's Track and Field claims Oregon's 8th B1G title

Simeon Birnbaum set a meet record in the 1500 as the Oregon men racked up 110 points to soar to the Big Ten Outdoor Track Championship over the weekend at Hayward Field.

They pointed in 13 of 21 events, with Birnbaum capturinng the 5,000 meters in a meet-record time of 13 minutes, 31.97 seconds.

They dominated in distance running with Aiden Smith, Evan Bishop, Evan Burke, Abdel Laadjel and Quincy Norman finishing 2-3-4-6-8 in the 10,000.



Benjamin Balazs won the 3,000 steeplechase on Saturday, with Sergio Del Barrio placing third for 16 team points.



Patmon homer secures Super Regional for Oregon softball

Down 7-3 in the third inning after a three-run homer by Stanford's Joie Economides, her second circuit clout of the game, the Ducks fought back with seven runs over the final five innings. Dez Patmon blasted a three-run homer with one out in the seventh to win it.

Staci Chambers came on in the third and shut down the Stanford attack, 4.1 innings of shutout pitching. Elise Sokolsky got the final out of The Cardinal 7th, officially the winning pitcher.

Since Liberty upset No. 1- seed Texas A&M in College Station, the Ducks will host the best-two-out-of-three Super Regional at Jane Sanders Stadium beginning Thursday May 22.

Oregon Women third at NCAA Golf Tournament

After three rounds at the NCAA Championship from Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, the Oregon women's golf team sits in third place at -2 862.
