It was an eventful weekend in Eugene, Oregon, as the Oregon Ducks made noise on several different fronts. The Oregon Baseball team earned the right to host Regionals, bringing Oregon State, Washington State, and Yale to town. While the baseball team was hard at work, so was Dan Lanning and his staff as the Oregon Football team hosted their first weekend of official visits.

Oregon Baseball headlines an exciting weekend for the Ducks

Oregon Baseball goes 3-0, winning Eugene Regional

For all the talk about how Oregon State should've been a regional host and how the other schools could pose a serious threat, in the end, the Oregon Ducks handled business, beating each of the teams in the regional. The Ducks got incredible efforts out of the pitching staff, helping lead the group one step closer to Omaha.

The Ducks now head to Austin next weekend to face off against a fellow #1 seed in the Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns swept their regional as well, and Oregon will need a total team effort on the road if the team is going to leave Austin as victors.

Will Mencl shines at Elite 11

One of the biggest camps of the recruiting cycle took place this weekend as the Elite 11 finals took place in California. Over the three days, Will Mencl impressed, finishing as Rivals' 5th ranked quarterback, 24/7 Sports' 5th ranked QB, and ranked highly in Elite 11's scoring over all 3 days. The recruiting rankings will certainly shake after the weekend as several QBs had stellar performances, but Mencl is still in great shape to finish the cycle as a 5-star recruit.

Oregon lands prediction for elite LB Toa Satele

Among the official visitors this weekend was Hawaii's top ranked prospect, Toa Satele, who ranks as a top 100 player in the class and a top 5 linebacker in the class. The hope for Oregon was to improve their standing in Satele's recruitment, and leaving the weekend, they did just that as Rivals logged several predictions for the Ducks to land the elite linebacker.

Oregon hosts first official visit weekend

Along with Toa Satele, the Ducks hosted several other elite recruits in a jam packed weekend on the recruiting trail. Oregon hosted safety Junior Tu'upo, RB Landen Williams-Callis, DE KJ Green, IOL Caden Moss, LB Drew Williams, and IOL Lucas Rhea. Monday should be the first sign of how the Ducks fared with each recruit as Dan Lanning looks to continue adding elite pieces to this recruiting class.
