Oregon Sports fans better get ready to start making room on their calendar as November is a busy month for the Ducks. Dan Lanning and the Ducks are entering the final stretch of the regular season, and on Monday Night, college basketball in Eugene begins for both the Men's and Women's programs. After a thrilling win and before two new seasons begin, there's a ton to be excited about in Eugene.
Oregon Ducks News ahead of busy week in Eugene
Oregon Men's and Women's Basketball opens season on Monday Night
Tony Stubblefield's season long interview for the full-time Oregon basketball job starts on Monday Night, as the season tips off. The Ducks will be hosting the Montana Grizzlies at 7:00 PM PT as Oregon Basketball looks to rebound coming off a disappointing season that saw the team miss the NCAA Tournament. With the expanded NCAA Tournament field, missing it would be an even greater disappointment, and this transfer heavy group has the talent to get it done.
The Women's Basketball team also kicks off their season on Monday Night in a matchup with the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. The Women's game tips off at 3:00 PM PT in Matthew Knight Arena, giving fans a chance to watch both teams in action in Eugene.
Oregon remains unranked despite win over Northwestern
After adding another big win to the resume, Oregon didn't jump into the AP Poll Top 25, but the team is on the horizon. The Ducks rank "27th" as the team with the second most votes in "Others receiving votes" behind Northwestern. The good news is that with Ohio State ranked 11th, the Ducks could pick up a big boost if the team wins in Columbus this weekend.
Ducks open as underdog vs. Ohio State
The Ohio State Buckeyes are dealing with some of the same issues as the Oregon Ducks as Julian Sayin will miss an extended stretch with an injury he suffered in the Indiana game. While Oregon looked like a team finally finding a rhythm this weekend, Ohio State was a mess in their loss to the USC Trojans. Despite the recent showings, Ohio State opened as 10.5 point favorites (-102) and -375 favorites to win the game outright, while Oregon is the 10.5-point underdogs (-120) and +280 underdogs to win the game according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Florida State fires Mike Norvell, creating new candidate for OC search
On Sunday Afternoon, the coaching carousel chaos continued as Florida State finally fired head coach Mike Norvell. The decision by the Seminoles creates a new candidate in Oregon's offensive coordinator search as Norvell's offensive prowess will make him a top name to watch. Dan Lanning and Norvell have spent plenty of time together, which could make a reunion possible.

Jay Johnson makes stellar impression as Ducks' new playcaller
If Oregon is in an evaluation period for the next offensive coordinator, then Jay Johnson made a strong first impression on Saturday. The Ducks scored 20 points or more for the first time since September, as Oregon's offense accounted for 34 points in the win. If Johnson continues to find offensive success, he's going to make himself a serious candidate for the job, but the tests are going to start to get harder.
Oregon may make late 2027 recruiting class addition with Relando Jefferson IV
The 2027 recruiting class is mostly in place for the Ducks, but Dan Lanning and the staff continue to evaluate players in their Senior season. This weekend, the Ducks hosted 3-star WR Relando Jefferson IV, and with the coaching staff giving him an offer, he de-committed from Fresno State. Jefferson is having a monster Senior season, and will certainly be a rankings riser, and when you add in that he played High School football with Oregon RB Brandon Smith, it would be a great addition.
Oregon Men and Women win Big Ten Cross Country Championship
While many were locked into the Northwestern vs. Oregon game over the weekend, other Ducks' were busy bringing championships back to Eugene. This weekend, both the Oregon Men's and Women's Cross Country teams won the Big Ten Championships.

Bucky Irving runs wild in Bucs run filled win
Baker Mayfield is still recovering from his injury, and with the horrible weather conditions, the Buccaneers turned back the clock, winning a game without completing a pass. Bucky Irving powered the offense with 170 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries, and if not for a fumble on a peanut punch, he would've scored twice. Out of nowhere, the Buccaneers have come to life, and suddenly look like the team to beat in the wide open NFC South.

Bo Nix and Broncos pick up pivotal win over Chiefs
Bo Nix has gotten a ton of hate for not being the elite passer he was at times last season, but even with all the offensive struggles, the team continues to find a way to win games. On Sunday, the Broncos launched a 4th quarter comeback, scoring a pair of late touchdowns, and getting a goal line stop to seal the win. Nix finished the game 20-32 for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns, and the team now sits atop the AFC West.
