Wyndham Clark takes dead aim at 2025 Masters

Oregon grad and former PAC-12 conference champion Wyndham Clark tees it up Thursday at the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia.

Clark won the U.S. Open in 2023 and the AT&T Pebble Pro-Am in 2024. From Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, the same school Christian McCaffrey attended, he's been on the PGA Tour since 2018 and won his first event at the Wells Fargo Open in May 2023, a month before his Open victory.

The former Webfoot linksman finished tied for fifth at the Houston Open two weeks ago, so his game is in good shape going into the tournament. He told the USA Today "Golf Week" website, "I feel like I've found a lot of things in my game that have given me confidence."

He's got a big fan in Dan Lanning. "Ducks Wire" beat writer Zachary Neel asked Lanning about the historic tournament and the Oregon head coach said,

“I’m going to try and catch as much as I can. We’ll be busy with practice on Thursday and Saturday, but I hope Wyndham goes out there and takes care of business.”

Women's Softball crushes opposing pitching-- and the books

Winter term grades are in and Melyssa Lombardi's Diamond Ducks posted a team GPA of 3.57. That's impressive enough, but they are also hitting .357 as a team, strangely, an exact match, 350 hits in 916 at bats.

In the words of the immortal Casey Stengel, you could look it up.

They've bashed 62 homeruns and 284 RBI while stealing a school-record 128 bases, all good for a 35-4 record. Tied for first in the Big Ten at 9-1, the Women of Oregon have moved up to No. 4 in the latest ESPN/USA softball poll.

Seven different Ducks made the Dean's List: Katie Flannery, Kaylynn Jones, Kai Luschar, Kedre Luschar, Stefini Ma'ake, Dez Patmon and Taylour Spencer.

Pair of Ducks live their One Shining Moment

The final of the NCAA Basketball tournament, No. 1-seed Florida defeating No.1-seed Houston, 65-63 drew an audience of 18.1 million viewers, up 22% and the highest-rated final since 2019.

A couple of Ducks got a tiny share of the tournament limelight. The Oregon Duck was featured in the "One Shining Moment" video and Will Graves, son of UO Women's basketball coach Kelly Graves, was a GA for the Gators.

The color and the passion of the tournament make it one of the best experiences in sports. Duck fans have to hope for a deeper run and a closer connection to the Final Four magic next season with Jackson Shelstad and Kwame Evans committed to returning next year.
