June surge begins in Oregon football recruiting
Brandon Arrington, Tyler Atkinson, Richard Wesley, Calvin Russell visit Oregon this weekend, the first of three massive visit weeks for Dan Lanning and the Ducks.
Five-star quarterback Ryder Lyons visits June 13. Five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho and four-star linebacker Nick Abrams visit June 20.
The Ducks have been quiet on the recruiting trail while other schools have taken their shot, some with extraordinary and unsustainable tactics. It's clearly early in the recruiting calendar when Rutgers, Illinois, Louisville and Kansas are in the national Top 15.
It's the season of rankings, ratings and lists in college football
The preseason magazines are out, coming soon to a grocery store or airport snack shop near you. Phil Steele goes to press tomorrow. Athlon and Lindy's have hit the shelves.
Lindy's released Top Wide Receivers and Top Quarterback Lists for 2025, and their are some notable omissions and inclusions.
Oregon wide receiver Evan Stewart has been a staple on top-X lists this offseason, and he has a chance to play his way into the first round of the draft if he demonstrates durabilty and consistency in his senior year.
Stewart was third on the team last season with 48 receptions for 613 yards and five touchdowns. His best year came as a freshman at Texas A&M, 53 catches for 649 yards, two TDs.
In 2024 the 5th-best receiver in college football caught 62 passes for 1172 yards and 12 touchdowns. That's the measuring stick.
People are sleeping on Dante Moore, who typically doesn't appear on any of these lists. Let them sleep. With a year to learn the system and learn from Dillon Gabriel, Moore's will be a surprise for everyone except the 40,000 who attended the Oregon Spring Game.
With 10 drafted in 2025, the 'Pro Ducks' tradition continues
Fouts, Renfro, Zimmerman and Van Brocklin are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Haloti Ngata has been nominated and is under consideration for the 2026 class.
