The Oregon Ducks are officially headed to Big Ten play after wrapping up a highly successful non-conference scheduled to kick off their season. For the first time since the 2013-14 season, Oregon defeated all of their non-conference opponents at the beginning of the year.

For those who might be wondering what was so special about the Ducks team in 2013, it was the year that Joe Young, Jonathan Lloyd, and Mike Moser led Oregon to the third round of the NCAA Tournament

With a 12-1 overall record and the No. 9 ranking in the nation, the Ducks are sitting pretty as they fly towards their conference schedule. Oregon's only loss so far this season was to the UCLA Bruins (a Big Ten opponent) on a heart-breaking buzzer beater.

Oregon capped off non-conference play with a jaw-dropping 40-point victory over the Weber State Wildcats. Sophomore guard Jackson Shelstad shined brightly for the Ducks in the matchup, scoring 16 points and producing 2 steals throughout the game.

The Oregon football team made its way to Pasadena on Sunday ahead of the Ducks' rematch against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

From head coach Dan Lanning to quarterback Dillon Gabriel to defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi, the Ducks were (unsurprisingly) dressed head-to-toe in Nike gear – directly after the Ducks unveiled their latest uniforms for the Rose Bowl Game.

The No. 1 Oregon Ducks and the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes are scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. PT on ESPN from The Granddaddy of Them All.

More Oregon sports news:

Former Ducks continue to excel at the professional level. Former Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers clinched a spot in the NFL playoffs while former running back Bucky Irving surpassed the 1,000-yard mark on Sunday for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Linebacker Troy Dye joined Herbert on the Chargers ahead of the 2024 season and has become a defensive menace for LA's opponents to handle. Jevon Holland, former Oregon safety, continues to shine brightly for the Miami Dolphins and made a few clutch plays on Sunday in their 20-3 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Quarterback Bo Nix has led the Denver Broncos to a shockingly successful season after the team struggled during its first years under head coach Sean Payton. Nix, who has thrown for an awe-inspiring 3,454 yards and 25 touchdowns so far this season, has taken the Broncos to a 9-7 overall record this year.
