It's a busy time in Eugene as the Oregon Ducks are in the middle of pivotal postseasons in several sports while the football program is approaching the peak recruiting season. This weekend brought an end to one postseason in Eugene as the Softball team lost in Regionals, but another postseason begins after Oregon Baseball picked up a series win in the regular season finale.
After a busy weekend for the Ducks in Eugene, here are the biggest storylines to follow in Oregon athletics.
Oregon suffers dueling fates on the diamond
Softball season ends in disappointing fashion
The softball team's run in the NCAA Tournament started with the troubling news that Lyndsey Grein was dealing with an eye infection, which sidelined her. While the Ducks were able to overcome it against Idaho State, they were no-hit against Mississippi State. Playing a second game on Saturday with a limited pitching staff led to the Ducks running out of gas in an upset against Saint Mary's.
The way the season ended will certainly leave a sour taste in everyone's mouth, especially with Grein missing the tournament. Melyssa Lombardi is now tasked with replacing a veteran core when the Transfer Portal opens if the Ducks are going to make a deeper run next season.
Oregon Baseball takes thrilling series against USC
The Oregon Baseball team entered the weekend with a pivotal series against USC as both teams eyed the chance to host a regional. After losing in extra innings on Thursday Night, the Ducks won the next two games, with the finale ending on a walkoff suicide squeeze by Burke-Lee Mabeus. All 3 games were decided by 1 run, as the entire series had the feel of a Super Regional.
The Ducks now kick off the Big Ten Tournament as the 3rd overall seed, meaning they won't know their opponent for a while. The Ducks will likely only need a win and some helpful results to ensure they're hosting a regional when Selection Monday sets the NCAA Tournament bracket.

Oregon Track caps off Big Ten Triple Crown
This weekend, the Oregon Track and Field team swept the Big Ten outdoor titles at the Big Ten Championship meet. The win gives Oregon a rare Triple Crown after the Ducks swept the Cross Country and Indoor Track and Field meets earlier this year. Since joining the Big Ten, the Ducks have won 10 of 12 Big Ten Championships in Track, a truly remarkable feat for the program.

Ai'King Hall flips from Oregon to Miami
The football program had a quiet weekend on the recruiting trail as the Ducks prepare for Official Visit season. The lone news for the Ducks wasn't positive as elite cornerback recruit Ai'King Hall flipped his commitment from to Miami.

The loss is a significant loss for the Ducks as Hall is a top 100 recruit and was the Ducks 3rd highest ranked recruit. Dan Lanning and the staff will have to reshape their recruiting board and try to rise the ranks with new targets, especially after Donte Wright flipped from Georgia to Miami last weekend.
Will Mencl continues to shine at showcase events
The prized commitment for Oregon currently is 5-star quarterback Will Mencl, and while every recruiting service doesn't rank him as a 5-star, that should quickly change. This weekend, Will Mencl was at Justin Jefferson's Flight School event, where he took home the QB MVP Award. Mencl continues to shine at every event he attends, and there's a real chance by the end of the cycle he rises to be the Nation's top ranked recruit with this pace.
