Deuce Geralds, Davon Benjamin announce commitments today

Two Top 100 players come off the board Saturday in 2026 college football recruting, and one of those is likely to be a Duck. Cornerback Davon Benjamin of Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, California has scheduled his announcement for 4 p.m. PT.

He's choosing between Texas, Washington, Oregon, North Carolina, and Michigan. Recruited by Chris Hampton, prediction machines have him penciled in for the Ducks after making an official visit on June 13.

The other high-profile decison probably won't go Oregon's way. Defensive tackle Deuce Geralds, 6-3, 270 from Suwanee, Georgia makes his selection at noon P.T. and two Rivals/On3 analysts, Steve Wiltfong and Sam Spiegelman, have him picking the LSU hat.

Sha'Carri Richardson arrested in Seattle

Olympic silver medalist and LSU track champion Sha'Carri Richardson has been arrested on charges of domestic violence in Seattle Wednesday July 27, according to reports from Reuters and USA Today.

Richardson allegedly pushed the man and he fell into a nearby column, according to the Seattle Police Department."

According to the police report, airport security video shows Richardson allegedly pushing Olympic sprinter Christian Coleman multiple times until he fell into a nearby column, then she threw her head phones at him.

Thursday in Eugene, Richardson ran second in her heat at the USA Track and Field Championships in Eugene in the 100 meters in a time of 11.07 but later withdrew before her semifinal heat. She is scheduled to compete in the 200 on Sunday.

She won the silver medal in the 100 at the 2024 Paris Olympics, gold in the 100 meter relay. At LSU the Dallas native earned All-American honors for four seasons, the winner of the Bowerman 100 and NCAA record holder with a top time of 10.62 in Budapest at the World Championships in 2023.
