Friday night at Jane Sanders Stadium the Ducks host frequent foil Liberty in an NCAA Softball Tournament Super Regional, two wins away from the College World Series at Devon Park in Oklahoma City.

Ranked No. 7 in the country and 51-8, the Ducks completed an improbable Sunday sweep to earn a hosting gig. All the Flames had to do was upset No. 1-seed Texas A&M.

Oregon had to win two of two Sunday after falling to The Cardinal 14-1 on Saturday. They run-ruled Weber State Saturday night 9-1 to work their way out of the losers' bracket, then took the first game Sunday afternoon with a 13-hit barrage, winning 15-5 behind home runs by Kedre Luschar and Rylee McCoy.

In the nightcap and Regional final the Ducks trailed 7-3 after the Stanford 3rd, looking dead and buried after two home runs by Cardinal first baseman Joie Economides, a grand slam in the 1st inning and a three-run blast in the third.

The Ducks stormed back. Emma Cox lifted a two-run homer to left in the bottom of the inning to get them within 7-5.

Staci Chambers came out of the bullpen to shut down the Stanford offense, pitching 4.1 innings of shutout ball to keep Oregon in the game.

Kedre Luschar scored on a wild pitch in the fifth, then Kai Luschar brought home Dezianna Patmon with an infield single in the sixth to tie the game 7-7.

With one out in their last at bat Patmon crushed a three-run homer into the night sky, completing the seven-run comeback.

The storybook ended perfectly encapsulated Oregon's season this year. This is a spirited, resilent bunch that plays with tremendous heart and togetherness. They battle, gaining a lot of inspiration from ace pitcher Lindsey Grein, named this week as NCAA Softball's Most Improved Player by Softball America.

The Flames are led by outfielder Rachel Roupe, the Conference USA Player of the Year, 23 home runs and 73 RBIs in 2025. They're two-time league champions with a season record of 38-25.

Leading pitcher Elena Escobar has posted a 25-3 record this season, fanning 175 batters in 167.1 innings with a 2.43 ERA.

Tonight's Super Regional opener begins at 7 p.m. PT, televised on ESPNU. But the best view will be from the packed house at the Jane.
