Oregon fans lose their minds over Kenyon Sadiq hurdle for a touchdown
By Sam Fariss
The moment was upon the Oregon Ducks and they started off brilliantly. In just nine plays (or four minutes and 20 seconds), the No. 1 team in the nation had found the end zone to go up 7-0 on the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Big Ten Championship.
Finding the end zone for the Ducks was tight end Kenyon Sadiq. Not only did he make a smooth catch off a pass from Dillon Gabriel but Sadiq entirely hurdled over a defender to keep the play in motion.
Oregon fans and football fans alike lost their collective minds over the impressive leap and subsequent touchdown by the Ducks tight end.
Sadiq is one of the unsung heroes of the Oregon offense. While fellow tight ends Terrance Ferguson and Patrick Herbert garner most of the attention, Sadiq has earned impressive stats throughout his sophomore season.
With the 28-yard touchdown reception, Sadiq improved to 296 yards through the air so far this season. The touchdown was just the second of his short collegiate career.
During the first drive, Gabriel completed 3 of 3 pass attempts for 48 yards and the touchdown. Running backs Noah Whittington and Jordan James combined for an impressive 21 yards on just 6 carries to help push the Ducks down the field.
The Oregon defense held the Penn State offense to a field goal at the end of the Nittany Lions' first drive in the conference title game.
No. 1 Oregon was favored by just 3.5 points ahead of kickoff. The game was Penn State's second-ever time in the Big Ten Championship. With it being Oregon's first season in the conference, it was the Ducks' first time in the conference title game.
