Oregon made the final five for 6-3, 302 five-star 2027 defensive tackle Jalen Brewster, but Saturday afternoon he chose Texas Tech.

The Red Raiders of the Big 12 have become a recruiting menace with shiny NIL deals, picking up 5-star edge rusher LaDamion Guyton of Savannah, Georgia in August, another premium 2027 prospect. In this year's class they've snatched up 5-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo and four-star pass blocker Bryce Gilmore, both from the Lone Star State.

Oregon remains No. 7 nationally in the 247Sports Composite for 2026 with 17 commitments. The Ducks maintain the highest ranking-per-recruit at 94.34, four five-star recruits on their list.

With the coaches out recruiting during the bye week, plus big home games ahead against Indiana and USC, the Ducks are due for another recruiting surge. They're maintaining contact with Ohio State commit Chris Henry and Syracuse wide receiver Calvin Russell and just extended an offer to 6-4 Iowa State commit Milan Parris.
