Oregon lands Dylan Raiola with Dante Moore's decision still in the lurch

Even though the Ducks' current quarterback has yet to announce his plan for next year, Oregon and head coach Dan Lanning just landed a blockbuster transfer.

Just like that, the Oregon Ducks may have found their next go-to guy in the backfield.

Even though Dante Moore, the Ducks' current starting quarterback, has yet to announce whether he's returning for another season, heading to the transfer portal, or declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft, Oregon just landed former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola.

Raiola, who became the Nebraska Cornhuskers' starting quarterback as a true freshman in 2024, entered the transfer portal when it officially opened at the beginning of January.

After rumors of him following in his hero's footsteps and transferring to Texas Tech (yes, I'm talking about Patrick Mahomes), it became clear that Raiola was interested in bringing his talents to Eugene.

Dylan Raiola commits to the Oregon Ducks

Now, it's official, and Raiola is set to be a Duck in 2026, even though nobody is sure what Moore will do next.

Earlier this week, reports came out that even if Moore returned for another season with the Ducks, Raiola would still be interested in joining the program, even if it meant acting as Moore's understudy during the 2026 season.

As of now, the depth chart looks as though Moore could still be QB1 next season, if he decides to push off declaring for the Draft for another season. Then, Raiola would likely be QB2, especially with former Oregon backup quarterbacks Austin Novosad and Luke Moga departing for the portal.

The moral of the story is that even if Moore decides to take his talents elsewhere (whether that be the NFL or another collegiate program), the Ducks will be just fine at the quarterback position.
