Oregon lands game day visit with 5-star Braylon Clark in clash with the Buckeyes

Not only has college football season returned, but so has college football's recruiting season. When games return, it resumes all the chaos of recruiting as players take game day visits to some of their top schools to see their potential next school in action, helping them close in on a decision.

The Oregon Ducks should have a busy fall hosting recruits, as Dan Lanning and his staff have made a tradition out of signing a top 5 class every year. If Oregon continues its recruiting tear while living up to the expectations on the field, the Ducks could easily sign the Nation's top ranked class, but it starts with landing some of the 5-star targets.

Oregon secures visit with 5-star Braylon Clark, but face uphill battle against Ohio State

On Tuesday Morning, 5-star wide receiver Braylon Clark announced that 6 schools would be getting 7 visits from him this offseason. The Ducks will get their chance to push for Clark on November 14th when he comes to town for the Michigan game.

The big news in Clark's announcement is the fact that he'll take two visits to Columbus to watch Ohio State play, but he'll technically see Oregon play twice when the Ducks and Buckeyes battle on November 7th.

Last week, Rivals' Steve Wiltfong declared Braylon Clark as a recruit to watch for the Ducks while noting that Ohio State has the early lead.

"5-star receiver Braylon Clark. Colleague Chad Simmons and I have him predicted to Ohio State. We have Oregon in the top two. There's certainly other contenders for Braylon Clark. He's very familiar with Oregon. Again, pointed to the culture that Dan Lanning has built and uh he elaborated on his relationship with Ross Douglas, the receivers coach, and the receiver production. So, Oregon is going to have a lot to say in that recruitment of Braylon Clark."

According to the Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Braylon Clark is the 10th ranked player in the Country, the 4th ranked wide receiver in the class, and the top player out of North Carolina.

Braylon Clark already has a frame built to play college football as he enters his Junior season with a 6-foot-3 frame at 185 pounds. In his sophomore season, Clark totaled 1,093 yards and 14 touchdowns helping build the buzz that makes him an early 5-star recruit in this cycle.

Ohio State has the early lead for Braylon Clark, but the Ducks can easily swing this battle like we've seen in the past. The Buckeyes already have a higher ranked wide receiver on board in Jett Harrison, and with his Ohio State ties, Clark will always be seen by the fans as the 2nd receiver in their class.

The biggest advantage that Ohio State may have is having a quarterback on board in the class with elite commit Christopher Vargas. The Ducks have positioned themselves nicely with several of the top quarterbacks in the 2028 class, and getting a commitment sooner rather than later would only help in this battle.
