This past weekend kicked off an exciting stretch for the Oregon Ducks as the first group of official visitors made their way to Eugene. As of Wednesday, the weekend has yet to result in a commitment for the Ducks, but by all accounts, the team knocked it out of the park. The further we get from the first weekend of visits, the more it sounds like the Ducks could have good news on the horizon.

One of the positions that looks to be in the best place for the Ducks in this recruiting class is linebacker. While Brandon Lockley Jr and Sam Ngata are already committed, it looks like Oregon could land as many as 5 linebacker recruits in this cycle.

3-star Drew Williams praises Oregon following Eugene visit

Among the many recruits on campus for the Ducks was Georgia native Drew Williams, who's a target for the Ducks at linebacker. Coming out of the weekend, it appears that Drew Williams is a serious target for the Ducks, and he repeated that sentiment while sharing what makes Oregon such an appealing program.

When you look at what Drew Williams has to say about Oregon, it's hard to feel as if the Ducks will lose out in this recruitment. Every recruit wants to feel like a priority, and the staff is clearly showing the love to Williams. Add in that he feels that the Ducks will develop him and make him the best football player possible, and it's hard to find a reason he shouldn't land in Eugene.

According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Drew Williams is a 3-star recruit ranked as the 1,262nd ranked player in the country, the 116th ranked linebacker in the class, and the 133rd ranked player out of Georgia.

The Ducks will have plenty of competition to beat out as he'll visit Miami this weekend, Kentucky the following weekend, and Florida to round out the visits. The good news for Oregon is that Williams is slated to return to Eugene for The Opening Finals.

Being in a great place with Drew Williams only adds to what could be a stellar linebacker haul for the Oregon Ducks. Brandon Lockley and Sam Ngata would be a stellar haul on their own, and then when you add in the players the Ducks are trending for, it could be a massive class. The nation's 4th ranked linebacker Toa Satele, was crystal balled to the Ducks after this weekend, while Oregon also leads for Ohio Native Brayton Feister.

The biggest key now is actually closing out these recruitments, but Oregon has made great strides just a weekend into official visit season.
