George Silva spent two seasons with the Oregon football team and played in 13 games for the Ducks before announcing he had entered the transfer portal following the 2024-25 season.

The offensive tackle struggled to insert himself in the starting lineup amongst a group of elite and dominant O-linemen. Silva, who started his collegiate career at Cal Fullerton Community College, transferred to Oregon ahead of the 2023 season during which he played in seven games.

Throughout the 2024 season, Silva played in just six games including Oregon's rivalry matchups against Oregon State and Washington as well as four other Big Ten games.

During his first season with the Ducks (2023), Silva saw just 51 snaps as he came off the bench to give reprieve to the offensive line group that led the nation with only five total sacks allowed. When Silva transferred to Oregon from Fullerton, he was graded as a four-star JUCO prospect according to 247Sports.

Now, with just one season of eligibility remaining, Silva appears to be looking for a program where he can see the field more often as the Ducks, led by head coach Dan Lanning, continue to bring in more and more blue-chip prospects.

Silva gained an additional year of eligibility due to the blanket year granted by the NCAA after Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia petitioned for former JUCO athletes to receive an additional season.

"If I can come back, I will come back for sure because I thought this was going to be my last year," Silva said earlier this offseason. "If I can get another year that’ll be a blessing for me.”

Neither 247Sports nor On3 have yet to release Silva's grade as a transfer portal prospect since he announced that he would leave the Oregon program.
