Saturday Night's home game in Autzen Stadium presented Oregon with another chance to host recruits as the chaos of recruiting is back in action. The Ducks brought a great mix of current commits along with targets in the 2028 cycle to campus. Anytime recruits make their way to campus, it's great news, and it's only better when they leave Oregon after witnessing a win.
Given some of the offensive recruiting targets on campus, it would've been nice if the Ducks scored more points, but the way the team rallied may leave a stronger impression. After a great weekend for the coaching staff of meeting recruits, and continue to pitch the school, Oregon finally may be nearing their first commitment in the 2028 recruiting cycle.
Oregon predicted to land elite WR Jayce Halasz
This fall, elite wide receiver recruit Jayce Halasz has been a fixture in Eugene as Saturday Night marked his 3rd trip of the fall out to Oregon. Continuing to get Halasz on campus is obivously a great sign for things to come in his recruitment, and after this weekend's visit, the Ducks are starting to look like the team to beat.
On Monday Morning, Rivals Recruiting Analyst Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction for Oregon to land the 4-star wide receiver.
When you turn on Jayce Halasz's tape, it's clear that opponents have no clue how to take away his blend of size and speed. At the midway point in Halasz's Junior season, the 4-star recruit has caught 19 passes for 433 yards and 8 touchdowns. Halasz's game last week showed just how dominant he can be, catching 7 passes for 175 yards and 5 touchdowns.

According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Jayce Halasz is the 136th ranked player in the country, the 6th ranked wide receiver in the class, and the 3rd ranked player out of the state of Washington. Given that the Ducks would be dipping into the Huskies backyard to lure away an elite playmaker, it would only add to the excitement of landing a commitment.
Oregon has yet to land a commitment in the 2028 recruiting cycle, and while it's still early in the process, it would be great to start building out the group. Quarterbacks are typically the first to commit in any cycle, but if Jayce Halasz ends up jumping on board with the Ducks it could speed up that process.
The Ducks have positioned themselves nicely with several quarterbacks, but also face steep competition for the likes of Josiah Boyd and Tristin Gaines. With Kentucky making a strong push for Boyd, and plenty of schools pushing for Gaines, being able to point to a committed wide receiver could go a long way.
It'll be interesting to see with the prediction for Halasz if the Ducks are able to close out this recruitment sooner rather than later or if he'll continue exploring his options. Getting started on the 2028 class is a priority and once one player commits, dominos could start to fall the Ducks' way.
