Monday August 11 - Per Max Torres/ScoopDuck On3 and Michael Greco, Oregon wide receiver Jurrion Dickey has been suspended from the team.

Dickey has allegedly been in altercations with teammates and argued with coaches, to the point where a suspension was necessary.

It was initially reported that Dickey was kicked off the team entirely, but a later update provided by Michael Greco via Max Torres confirmed that it is a "probationary suspension."

Dan Lanning has built an elite culture in Eugene since his arrival in 2022, but no college football team is immune to having incidents such as this arise, and as long as it is not an issue that spreads throughout the team, it is okay. Even if it is on a temporary basis until the player finds their way, you cannot have such negative actions in the locker room.

The last time we saw an Oregon player receive disciplinary action was former standout receiver Traeshon Holden, following the spitting incident in the first half of the regular season matchup with the Buckeyes. Holden has discussed on social media how he has learned from that incident, and that Oregon provided the necessary resources to help him.

Holden certainly refocused, as no further incidents arose, and 405 of his 718 yards came in the last six games of the season. He is now climbing his way up the Dallas Cowboys depth chart, and is one of my personal favorite Ducks of the Lanning era.

Though Dickey is yet to produce on the field for the Ducks, he was a five-star talent for good reason. He has unique size in Oregon's receiver room, and has showed some flashes in the 2025 spring game. Oregon will provide Dickey the proper resources he needs to manage his emotions, and if he decides to stick with the team, he will come back better as a result of it.

If Dickey decides that Oregon is not the school for him, the Ducks have the depth and talent to not worry about losing out on his services. Hauling in high four-star and five-star talent has looked easy under Dan Lanning and company.

Jurrion's brother, Jajuan, is on Oregon's roster, a redshirt-junior, 6 feet 2 inch, 300 pound defensive tackle.
