At the Hoopfest Women's Basketball Classic in Frisco, Texas, the Oregon women got a staggering 53 points from their bench as they walloped Old Dominion 82-46.

Washington State transfer Astera Tuhina paced the scoring with 18 points in 23 minutes, adding four assists. Ehis Etute dropped in 15 points in just 18 minutes along with 8 rebounds, and Amina Muhammad put in 10 on 5-5 shooting plus six boards.

They jumped out to a 30-18 lead in the second quarter as Sofia Bell knocked down 3-3 free pointers and Tuhina sparked them off the bench with three field goals and an assist.

A three-pointer by Mia Jacobs made it 33-18. The Ducks hit 45 percent from three to start the game before hitting a cold streak, missing five shots in a row in a three-minute scoring drought.

Bell got them going again at 2:28 with her fourth 3-pointer at the 2:38 mark, then Tuhina hit a floater to restore the bulge at 38-25. Katie Fiso buried an elbow jumper off an assist by Jacobs to make it 40-25. Bell swatted away a shot on the other end.

A fast break layup by Amina Muhammad with eight seconds to go in the half got the Ducks to 42-25, well in sight of reaching 8-0 on the season.

Balanced scoring and defense propel Ducks to 8-0

Bell led the scoring onslaught with 12 points, while Tuhina poured in 9 in just eight minutes off the bench. Fiso and Jacobs put up 7 each, Jacobs with three rebounds, three assists and a block.

Sunday the Ducks travel to 8-0 Auburn, televised on SEC+ starting at noon PT.

The game got sloppy in the third quarter as the Ducks made six turnovers in the first five minutes, the score 5-5 in the period. A putback by Ehis Etute and a layup by Janiyah Williams made it 50-30.

Stout defense held the Monarchs to 26 percent shooting as they extended the lead to 59-33. Etute led the surge with 13 points and 8 rebounds by the close of the third quarter.

A 15-2 run in the fourth quarter made it a laugher with Tuhina, Etute, Avery Cain and Williams doing most of the damage.

With 1:39 to play Tuhina converted a layup but took hard contact and had to be helped to the locker room after scoring 18 points on 7-8 shooting with four assists, her best game as a Duck.
