Oregon women surge to comeback win at Auburn, reach 9-0

In their biggest win of the year Kelly Grave's undefeated women's squad stormed back from a 32-24 deficit at halftime to beat SEC power Auburn in the own building, the Ducks' third victory of the week.

Guard Katie Fiso ran the show, hitting a jumper, a layup and a three-ball in a decisive run in the last seven minutes of the fourth quarter. For the game she poured in 24 points on 10-20 shooting, 2-3 from 3-point range.

The Ducks got 10 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, two steals and an assist from Mia Jacobs, their 6-2 forward from Perth, Australia. They shook off a sluggish second quarter in which they were outscored 21-11.

"I'm just so proud of them," coach Kelly Graves said in his postgame radio interview. "We didn't hang our head. We didn't give up. We had every reason. It was a tough road trip, planes, trains and automobiles. We've been on the road for an entire week and to be down 14 like that and find something within us to pull it out. First close game of the season and we showed great composure."

After a long road trip, Frisco, Texas to Auburn, Alabama then back to Eugene, the team has a couple days to regroup before a home game Wednesday at Matthew Knight Arena versus in-state rival Oregon State, 6 p.m. PT on Big Ten+. League begins Sunday with a game at No. 3, 8-1 UCLA, noon on FS1.
